Event: Rise and Sunshine Blessingway
Venue: Private Home – Studio City, CA
This blessingway was designed around a soft and natural palette of ivory, white, beige, pale yellow, and hints of peach, with loose fresh-cut greenery woven throughout to give the space an organic, garden-like quality. Rather than a formal indoor gathering, the celebration unfolded across the home’s garden under flowing canopy draping, blurring the line between interior styling and open-air garden party.
Canopy and Backdrop Design
Ivory canopy panels finished with hand-tied tassels and small woven details created a soft architectural ceiling above the gathering space, filtering natural light and lending the setting an intimate, tented quality. Strands of lights threaded through the surrounding foliage carried the design into the evening hours.
The backdrop serves as the space’s focal point, with two large colorful panels flanking a smaller center panel shaped like a sun. Four lush floral clusters are incorporated into the structure at key points across its width. The florals are loose and natural in arrangement, keeping with the overall aesthetic of the celebration rather than feeling formally composed.
Table Design and Place Settings
The dining table is dressed with a full-length fresh-cut floral and greenery runner that travels the entire length of the surface, a generous and abundant centerpiece that anchors the table without the use of individual vessels or risers. Blush and cream garden roses, dried pampas grass, and soft foliage layer together along the runner, spilling naturally toward the place settings on either side.
Each of the 37 place settings is laid with a water goblet, a plate, two gold forks, a gold knife, a gold spoon, and a folded peach napkin. The complete, considered setting ties directly back to the event’s color palette through the warmth of the napkin and the gleam of the gold flatware.
Lounge Seating and Layout
Low seating along the table invites guests to settle in close to the florals, creating a relaxed, grounded atmosphere throughout the gathering. Throughout the home, 18 accent pillows are distributed across seating areas, six in yellow, five in orange, three in beige, and four in tan, adding warmth and continuity to every corner of the space and extending the design beyond the dining area into the full environment of the home.
Dessert and Guest Stations
A styled dessert display carries the palette forward with a layered cake finished in soft florals, alongside individual sweets, glass cloches, and dried floral accents arranged across tiered surfaces. Additional guest stations, including custom signage in gold frames and a dedicated beverage cart, extend the design language across the property and give guests distinct moments to gather throughout the celebration.
The overall design balances abundance with restraint, allowing fresh florals, natural textures, and a warm neutral palette to create a setting that feels effortless and deeply personal.
